gendarme software package provides extensible rule-based checker for CLI assemblies, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gendarme
gendarme is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gendarme package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gendarme *
You will get with gendarme package name, version, architecture and description in a table
